SINGLE SPECIALTY GROUP:  This south Alabama hospital is searching for a Board Certified/Eligible Emergency Medicine Physician (residency trained) to join a group of 10 independently contracted EM physicians.  This is a stable group of physicians who are all boarded in Emergency Medicine. There are excellent ancillary and transcription services with over 250 medical staff members and with coverage of most specialties.  The group expanded into a 30K square foot ED facility that has 32 beds and is equipped with the following:  CT scan, Major trauma and resuscitation room, 8 bed short stay diagnostic treatment unit, orthopedic treatment room, minor surgery and procedure room, eye exam room, 2 isolation rooms, separate ambulance and walk-in entrance.  This community is described as very family oriented, has a low crime rate and a low cost of living.  Outdoors recreation activities include hunting, fishing, swimming and hiking just to name a few.  (ALM-156)

SOLO/HOSPITAL:  This north Alabama hospital is seeking a Board Certified/Eligible Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine or Internal Medicine (with experience in treating children) Physician to either to be an independent contractor or to be an employee of the Medical Center.  There are currently seven physicians contracted to provide ER coverage to this busy ER.  Compensation will vary with the option.  The Physician will work an average of 15, 12-hour shifts per month and can work more shifts if desired.   This area is located in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains and offers many fishing and boating activities.  This area is attractive to retirees because of the mild weather and to families because of the outstanding school system.  (ALM-300-B)

There are providing 24 hour staffing in their ER with 5 physicians who rotate 12-hour shift schedules. HOSPITAL:  A south central Virginia hospital seeks a Board Certified or Eligible Emergency Medicine physician to join its Emergency Room staff.  The current Emergency Room team consists of four permanent full time physicians:  two double board Emergency Medicine/Family Practice physicians and two primary care physicians who have additional training, i.e., ACLS, PALS. The hospital recently opened a new Emergency Department.  For this opportunity and they are open to Emergency Medicine or Primary Care physicians. The new physician will work one week on and one week off. The physician will be expected to work 12-hour shifts- some 7am to 7pm and some 7pm to 7am. The hospital also asks that the new doctor be able to do some trauma and some Pediatrics. They offer a very competitive hourly wage and a benefit package.  This Emergency room has a volume of 15K visits per year with 80% being non-emergent.  This opportunity is located less than two hours from our Nation's capitol.  (VAM-446)
